The fertilizer needs of agricultural crops vary depending on the type of crop, the nature of the yield to be obtained, the quantity of production required and the quality of the fertilizer used. In general, there are many factors and multiple overlapping that affect the amount of fertilizer to be added to a crop and the most important of the following factors:


  • Soil type includes natural and chemical properties and their level of fertility are essential elements necessary for plant growth.
  • Type of crop to be grown.
  • The quantity and quality of production required to achieve the economic return of cultivation of this crop.
  • Previous soil treatments and quality of previous crop (agricultural cycle used).
  • Quantity and quality of available irrigation water and irrigation method.
